The Knox County Hub was formed through the Leadership Knox County class of 2006/2007 in partnership with the Knox County Chamber of Commerce. The project group responsible for creating the organization had a desire to see Knox County businesses & organizations, fellow professionals and the local community thrive and connect with each other.

What better way for individuals new to the community and life long citizens to continue to learn & promote the diversity within the county than to host informal meetings where professionals from all facets of Knox County (manufacturing, agriculture, non-profit, banking, law, etc.) can mingle & exchange ideas, network, form new partnerships, and make new friends! With these things in mind the group set out to start a new exciting organization - the Knox County Hub.

We are planning to have meetings located in an informal atmosphere where folks are able to exchange ideas and information without the feeling of being overly regimented – we want to learn about the community and get involved and HAVE FUN doing it! For this reason the organization will meet for casual lunches and dinners at various local restaurants, which also helps to promote local business.

Are we a young professionals group? You can call us that, but we’d prefer to think of ourselves as “young at heart”, professional and civic-minded but most importantly still excited about what happens after work!

Throughout the year there will be special events organized which will give members an exciting opportunity to try new and different things in (and sometimes even outside of) Knox County. Some initial ideas for the events will include a bowling night, a wine tasting, a progressive dinner, and a poker run. We also plan to take a few “Road-trips”, perhaps to a ball game or to the casino at French Lick.
